Dr. Tod Fish

About

As the associate director of choral activities at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU), Dr. Tod Fish leverages more than two decades of experience to direct the school's opera chorus and men and women's choirs. Dr. Tod Fish has been in this position since 2013, and under his guidance the men and women's choirs have double and tripled in size, respectively. The women's choir was also recently selected to perform at the 2020 Southwest American Choral Directors Association Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas.

In addition to his directing responsibilities, Dr. Tod Fish is the teaching supervisor for students pursuing majors in choral music education, and teaches courses such as choral repertoire and Italian diction. A nominee for the 2018 Partners in Education Preparation Outstanding Field Supervisor Award, he has also served on several SFASU committees and worked as musical director for the SFASU SummerStage Festival.

Prior to joining the SFASU faculty, Dr. Tod Fish served as director of choral activities at Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas. He has prior experience at multiple Texas-based middle and high schools, and has also hosted educational clinics at dozens of schools. He earned a PhD in musical arts from the University of Kansas and completed his master and bachelor's degrees in music at SFASU. Supplementing his experience in educational settings, he is the director of the chancel choir and hand bell choir at First United Methodist Church in Nacogdoches, Texas.
